What It Really Takes to Be Seen (Podcast E-001)
This isn’t a podcast about five-step funnels or guaranteed hacks.
It’s about mindset. Real visibility.
And why showing up with strategy isn’t enough if your state of mind isn’t aligned.
I’m Lynn Colepaugh, strategist, founder, systems whisperer, and this is A Marketing State of Mind.
I’ve worked with entrepreneurs, experts, and creators for over 14 years.
Some of them had the fanciest tools, perfect branding, flawless funnels… and still couldn’t explain what they really did.
Others showed up with duct tape and determination… and created a wave you couldn’t ignore.
That disconnect? That tension between what you offer and what people hear? That’s not always a strategy problem.
It’s often a mindset problem.
Not the kind that gets fixed by affirmations or a Canva quote.
But the kind that shifts how you see yourself, your audience, and the weird dance of being visible in a noisy world.
A Marketing State of Mind is for people with something real to share but who aren’t always sure how to frame it, say it, or sell it without sounding like someone else.
You might be launching a book, planning an event, or bringing a new offer into the world.
Or you might just be stuck in that liminal space, where you know you’re good at what you do, but the outside world hasn’t quite caught on yet.
This show is for you.
Sometimes, it’ll be just me… unpacking ideas, sharing frameworks, or walking through real client shifts.
Sometimes, I’ll bring on guests: business owners, creatives, and founders who’ve launched things they care about… and are willing to talk not just about what worked, but what almost didn’t.
We’ll explore mindset at every stage of the game, from development and launch all the way through to growth and reinvention.
I’m not here to crown one strategy as king.
I want to hear why someone chose to offer a free trial and why someone else swore off discounts entirely.
Why one founder went all in on TikTok while another stayed rooted in quiet relationship marketing.
Why someone gave away early chapters of their book as a teaser, while another held the whole thing back behind a premium print release.
Because none of these choices are wrong, but they’re never random.
They’re shaped by belief, comfort, visibility hunger, external pressure, and the quiet internal negotiations we all make when we decide how, and if, we want to be seen.
That’s the marketing state of mind. And that’s what we’re going to unpack, one decision at a time.
I could’ve started with a tactical breakdown. Or a guest interview.
But I wanted this first episode to be just us.
Because you don’t need more noise.
You need someone to look you in the digital eye and say: It’s not just about being loud. It’s about being aligned.
If you’ve ever felt like your message wasn’t landing, not because it wasn’t good, but because you weren’t fully in it, then this show is going to feel like home.
And here’s the part I want to be clear about:
All of these strategies can work.
Free samples or gated content. Quiet launches or loud countdowns. TikTok or no social media at all.
But only if the mindset behind them is solid.
If your decision matches your values, your energy, your capacity, and your audience… it can land.
If it doesn’t, even the most polished tactic will feel hollow.
That’s what this show is here to explore.
Not the “best” strategy, but the one that fits your mind, your momentum, and the meaning behind your work.
Hit subscribe if you’re ready to build a marketing mindset that actually feels like you.
Episode two drops soon, and we’re talking about “Why Your Audience Isn’t Hearing What You Think You’re Saying.”
Until then… Sit in the clarity.
And remember, visibility isn’t about shouting.
It’s about saying the right thing in the right state of mind.
